Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: The course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of computer networks, covering fundamental concepts, organizational structures, communication protocols, and practical applications. The course will emphasize the theoretical and technological foundations of these networks, reinforced through hands-on exercises.
Course Content: A comprehensive study encompassing a wide range of topics, including the history, architectures (ISO/OSI, TCP/IP), protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet), network design, simulation, classification, subnetting, routing, and WAN technologies of computer networks, enables us to better understand the operation and applications of these systems.

1) Learn data communication, networks, protocols and standards.
2) Learn the duties and functions of hardware used in common data communication systems.
3) Learn about the most commonly used Ethernet technologies in local networks and the different varieties of these technologies.
4) Gain knowledge about wireless network (WAN) technologies.
5) Describe the operating principles of commonly used Internet applications.
6) Learn the functions of TCP/IP and UDP protocols and their equivalents in the OSI model.
7) Have knowledge about the functions of different devices used in networks and their relationships with each other.
