Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to ensure that students understand the importance of scientific concepts, the scientific method, and scientific research, as well as their necessity. Additionally, by applying an interactive learning model, the course aims to provide students with basic academic competence in how to apply each phase of the scientific research process, from selecting a research topic to writing a research report.
Course Content: In this course, topics such as the scientific method, the philosophy of science, methodology, research methods, the scientific research process, ethics in scientific research, the Mudanya University Thesis Writing Guide, and APA-6 writing rules are discussed. After general theoretical information is provided, students discuss the findings they have made in one article and one thesis in class. Additionally, they present and evaluate a research proposal and an article they have prepared in class, considering content, methodology, spelling rules, plagiarism reports, and ethical guidelines.
